Quick start

This page is a basic tutorial. Hopefully, it'll help you handle the main features of the replayer

I'll assume at this point that you have had no problem during the install process. During this process, you were asked to select a "main storage folder". I won't go into deep details here, but this is where all converted (meaning : replayable) sessions will be saved.

Step 1 : manual import of a single session
  • Grab one sample Hand History file of your choice ( usually a text file, find on your hard drive or retrieved through email, forum, lobbies, etc...)
  • Drag & Drop it on the replayer's table. For those unfamiliar with the expression "drag & drop", it means left clicking on a file, then, holding the clic, move your mouse another place, then release the clic.
  • You'll get this pop-up dialog :
#

The "Poker Room" element should be the pokersite or network your sample HH is from. No need to change it The "Save Into XML File" element should be the "IMPORTED" subfolder of your "main storage folder" (mentioned above) for the folder part, and your file's name with the ".xml" extension for the filename part : No need to change anything

  • Press OK

Step 2 : replay of the session

Now that your session is displayed on the replayer's table, you may replay it. The different ways to browse through the session are :

#
  • (1) Automatic playback : press the "play" button below the table. Use the "PBack Speed" slider to adjust the playback speed press the "play" button again to stop automatic replay
  • (2) Manual browsing into a hand : use the blue arrow buttons ( left & right ) to replay backward or forward, through the hand, to the next action ( fold, bet, raise, check, etc... )
  • (3) anual browsing from hand to hand : use the dark green arrow buttons ( left & right ) to move backward or forward to the next hand.
  • (4) Use the "session bar" : The light green bar at the bottom of the screen is your session. Each tiny rectangle is a hand, and you may clic on them to jump straight to that hand.
  • (5) Use the "street bar" : Move straight to the flop, turn, or river of hand, or to any street ( for stud games ) using the slider on the left
  • Use the "View/Change Skin" menu to select your favorite "display". Please note that this choice is completely separated to the origin of the file you're replaying : you may perfectly replay a PokerStars hand with the FullTilt view.

Step 3 : scan plugging for automatic import

Note : This feature ( detailed in steps 3 & 4 ) is available only for poker sites that store Hand History on your hard drive ( which is the case for most sites ). Please check the compatibilities page is you have any doubt.

  • Open the "Scan/Scanned Folders" menu.
  • You'll get this dialog :
#
  • Don't touch the "main storage folder"
  • In the "new folder" field, browse to the target hand history folder on your hard drive. For example, on PokerStars, it's something like "c:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory". Note for OnGame users : Instead of browsing to a folder, select the ".db" file in your "Databases" subfolder
  • Select the right pokerroom ( or network )
  • Clic "add to list". You may close this window.

Now, all files in this folder will be scanned and converted, as well as new sessions you'll play. The scan is run at startup, or when you clic on the "Scan/Scan..." menu

Step 4 : automatic conversion and live replay
Actually, you don't have anything to do, you've done all the work on step 3.
  • Play a session on a pokersite for which you have plugged a scanner
  • Run the replayer : the session will be detected, converted and loaded automatically, ready to be replayed.
  • If the replayer is already running, clic on the "Scan/Scan..." menu to get the same result

Live replay

  • Repeat the steps above, but for a session you are currently playing ( note: at least one entire hand must be completed )
  • The session is loaded in the replayer
  • Clic on the "Scan/Launch Tracking" menu

Your session is now "tracked". Each time a hand is completed, the replayer is updated. You'll see mucked cards, graphics will be updated, and the whole thing still available for replay

Step 5 : replay an already converted session.

Converted sessions are XML files, usually name after the original session text file. You'll find such files in your "main storage folder" (MSF)

  • Open the "File/Open" menu : a file chooser will open, starting on your MSF.
  • The SCANNED subfolder contains all files scanned through the process explain in step 3.
  • The IMPORTED subfolder contains all files imported manually ( see step 1 ).
  • If you clic on the "File/Last Opened" menu, you'll see the last 10 sessions you replayed, discarding all scanned session
  • If you clic on the "File/Last Games" menu, you'll see the last 10 sessions for the scanning point of view

Where to go from here ?

To the documentation page. You'll find a complete manual for all the above features, and for all the others.

You might want to take a look at :

  • Manual conversion
  • Add comments to a hand or highlight some hands in the session
  • Use the Graph tab to see usefull graphics
  • Use Filters to find some interesting hands
  • Export one or many hands to use it in a web page / forum
  • More...

You might also want to take a look a the Compatibilities page: you'll find all supported rooms and networks, and details about all supported games.

Use the FAQ : if one of the above recipes doesn't work on your computer, there's a great chance your problem is listed in this FAQ If you're unsuccesfull, please send me an email to popopop.poker@gmail.com . If your problem is related to some hand history file, please attach it to the email
